The ONLY reason for differnt region codes for dvds has to do with price—legal dvds in 3rd world countries are maybe a dollar while the same legal dvd in usa is maybe 20 dollars, and the lousy hollyweird studios still make a lot of money off one dollar dvds in foreign countries.
